A rare phobia makes women fearful of childbirth

Earlier this week, Dame Helen Mirren admitted she’s been disgusted by the thought of childbirth ever since she was 13 and viewed a health film shot in extreme close-up of a delivery.
We won’t be renting that one on Netflix anytime soon.
Actually, fear of childbirth is a bone-fide phobia called tokophobia, which according the Daily Mirror, is “a morbid fear of childbirth that in many cases is so profound that it sometimes leads to a complete avoidance of pregnancy.”
To some extent of course, we all have a fear of childbirth—that’s why God invented epidurals.
