ADHD Drugs Stunt Kids' Growth

A new study from SUNY Buffalo has found that ADHD drugs such as Ritalin and Concerta provide no longterm benefits and can actually stunt children's growth. "In the short run, [ADHD medication] will help the child behave better, [but] in the long run it won't," says Dr. William Pelham, the report's co-author. According to the FDA, 78 million prescriptions for ADHD drugs were written for children under 18 from 1999 through 2003. For more information, click here.
