Thinking of blowing off your parents this Thanksgiving? You may want to reconsider. According to a new, multi-generation study just released, your actions toward your own parents could be a message to your kids, reports USA Today.

"Apparently, we have to demonstrate the desired behavior. We can't be estranged from our parents and then expect our kids to be nice to us later," says Daphna Gans, who conducted the study at the University of Southern California.

Not that we should need a reason to be nice to our folks, but, let's be honest, sometimes we do. This study is released at the perfect time. If you've been less than patient or haven't picked up the phone, Thanksgiving is the perfect time to start over.

We'd write more, but we've got to go call our Mommies.
