Birth Control Linked to Clogged Arteries

A new study links birth control pills to artery-clogging plaque that could potentially endanger the heart. "I think it's a wake-up call," cardiologist Jennifer Mieres of New York University School of Medicine told USA Today. "If you're going to take birth control pills, you need to be aggressive about reducing your other risk factors: smoking, high blood pressure, cholesterol, diet, and lifestyle." The Pill has only been around for nearly 50 freaking years...it took medical researchers this long to figure this out?
