Cheerleading teacher in Arizona resigns after YouTube scandal.
The Arizona high school teacher who was filmed doing a cheer in front of her English class has resigned. After the video surfaced on YouTube, the community was in an uproar and the school put Cristina Mallon on administrative leave. We watched this and... well, words fail us.|

Seriously, what is the big deal? Sure, it’s a little strange she cheered in front of the class, but so many teachers do much worse. (Plus, how many teachers are “checked out” and basically DO NOTHING to get kids’ attention?)

She used poor judgment. The hip grinding is a bit much dontcha think? It looks like the “Hot For Teacher” video form Van Halen.

Apparently, she also asked the class to read a book the parents deemed ‘inappropriate’. So, is this about cheerleading, or censorship?

She had to RESIGN over that?? Must be a very conservative school. The video was edited to accentuate (and repeat) what was probably a very brief hip swivel. If that’s ALL she teaches, okay, there’s a problem. But there was nothing overtly sexual about it. She coudl well be a teacher with a lot of “enthusiasm”. I’ll bet her students are upset.

errr, what was the controversy about exactly? I was expecting some half naked teacher shakin her money maker all over the boys in the class or some bizarro thing. That was nothing, nothing at all. I can’t even believe she resigned over that. Those are tame cheerleading moves by comparison. In my high school, our teacher was taking belly dancing lessons and we asked her to show us the dance the day before her big recital, she performed for all of us and we loved it! I really don’t see whats wrong with this. it’s not like she’s sleeping with her students or hiring them to kill off her husband.

Sooooo not even an issue. There are so many other things that school’s officials could be worrying about. Beside their reputation of course. Heaven forbid THIS happen at their school!
