Ellen spreads cheer at a local maternity ward.

On today's show, Ellen pops by Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Ca. to deliver babies, gifts and... shots (and we're not talking the medical kind). Ellen knows just what mama needs after childbirth: booze!

Today’s show made me laugh so hard I got myself into a laughing spell. I just had a baby boy 3 months ago & if Ellen showed up with all he funniness after I had just been in labour for the last 3-4 days & with bearing gifts yes I would have cried too. Great showing!!

Was a great thing you did for all those new mothers.
Just didn’t agree with the humor of what mothers need after childbirth…booze. With all the problems in the world of alcoholics…would it not be better to present a message to promote something better than booze? Because coming from someone in the spotlight like yourself..something as small as saying they need booze after childbirth…does speak volumes to many out there. put tears in my eyes, in the awesome gift you did for those moms.
I myself am a mom of two..26 & 15, both mothers day babies..mothers day falling on their birthdays every six years, may 10th..and I am a recoverying alcoholic of 22years.

Loved today’s show!!!
I find it funny the lady above doesn’t seem to know that Ellen is a comedian and for those of us who don’t have a serious problem with alcohol her comments were hilarious. Many of us mothers to be can’t wait till be can enjoy a nice drink after we deliver.
Next thing you know obsessive compulsive people will be writing in saying the washer and dryers wasn’t a good idea.

Ellen, you are a sweet heart to do the things you do for people. It brought tears to my eyes, seeing the expressions of the new mothers, with their great new gifts. Wonderful. Love you, and I watch your show every day. I am also expecting in March. How exciting. Wish I could come see you before or after.. and receive nice gifts like that.. hehe

Ellen you are so sweet! I have a 7 week old baby and a 2 1/2 yr old and I watch every day. That was really cool of you to give them new washers/dryers, buggies etc. I’m sure they really appreciated it, I would have!

What Ellen did is awesome and I cannot believe some drunk is gonna write griping about the alcohol joke. It is a joke lady. Sorry you couldn’t handle your booze, should the rest of the world tip-toe around alcohol. Get over it, Ellen I am due in a month, bring the booze!

This was fantastic! I was crying myself! I just had a baby girl on August 23rd and it was a great experience. I also would of loved to have seen you to brighten up my day after having a c-section! Again this was great and I loved everything you have done for these new moms! I’ll remember to let you know when I’m pregnant with my second child along with where I’m having him/her…hehe!! Thanks again for being you!!!

As a stay at home mother of two, I watch your show everyday. I wish you would have been in Columbus, OH on September 19th to give my husband and I a baby shot after our second. You make me laugh everyday and it is great to watch someone like you on TV.

I watch your show everyday with my daughter who is 14 weeks old. I know that she loves you she smiles at the TV everytime you are on! I think that what you did was so amazing, thoes women reciving the best gift in the world, a child. And then to have you come and make that day so extra special, having the opportunity to have you make them laugh right after delivering truely such a sweet thing. It would really give the child a great birthday story! I can definately say that I was wishing that you where at the hospital with me. Oh and yes the shot too!
Thanks for making me laugh everyday!

Ellen you are the best I mean you don’t have any kids but you make the time to visit and share your happiness with mothers and their amazing babies. I think the Lord bless you with my gifts and blessings to express your love to others….Everyday I do all my chores before your show comes on.. I am 7th mos pregnant with my 3rd child. I am due on next year Feb 5th 08. And I wish you’ll come deliver my baby or give me $400 to have my baby in 10 min. That was hilarious, I couldn’t stop laughing. You inspire me and always make me laugh the way you try to dance the soldier boys. I mean Im trying myself too but you are just too funny.

Just wanted to say that was one of the funniest Ellen shows I have seen yet. There are pretty funny ones to choose from. Im not due till january 12th, but I wish I could have been there for the baby shots and the new washer and dryer. You are awesome and if you are in the great state of Georgia around jan 12 come see me. You can even cut the cord.
