ABC has ordered a pilot for a reality show featuring a male nanny.

The company that brought us the supernanny and her naughty stool is preparing a spin-off, according to TV Week. The term "manny" became hugely popular this year when Britney Spears had a male caregiver looking after her kids, but male au pairs have been around for years (witness the above pic of our favorite all-time TV-manny, Tony Danza). Of course, the idea of a guy babysitter causes a momtroversy. Rosie O'Donnell has said she wouldn't let a guy watch her kids. Here at Mom•Logic, we have a former manny on staff, and are crazy with love for him. Would you hire a manny to watch your kids?

I would hire a manny if it was the right person, but have to admit I’m more comfortable with a woman watching my kids. I almost feel like I would hire a gay manny but not a straight manny, if that makes sense.
