Can celebrity Moms effectively parent from across the miles?

Do you have to live in the same state as your kids to be a good mother? Anne Heche reportedly sees her 5-year-old son, Homer, four times a month. While a guest on The View, Heche said that Homer flies twice a month to see her in Vancouver, Canada, where she shoots Men in Trees, and she flies to Los Angeles twice a month to see him.
Nicole Kidman, who splits her time between Australia and Nashville, recently admitted to rarely seeing her kids, who live in Los Angeles. “When children are teenagers, they have a say in where they want to be. Los Angeles is a big draw, and I’m looking to get a place there so we can share more,” she told the UK's GMTV. Sherri Shepherd from The View recently revealed that her 2-year-old son lives in Los Angeles with his father because the New York air is bad for his lungs. She only sees him three times a month.
