Do you keep things from Daddy to save your kid's feelings?

How many conversations have gone like this:
Mom: Oh sweetie, you're a woman now.
Girl: Promise you won't tell Dad!

We actually may have even said that ourselves when we were at that awkward not-a-girl-not-yet-a-woman stage. The thought that Daddy would know we got our period or were wearing out first bra was not only uncomfortable, it was mortifying.

An article in the LA Times recently broached that Mom dilemma: When your kid asks you to keep something from your spouse, do you? It seems like either way, someone is always betrayed. Do you tell your husband and beg him to keep quiet? Or do you keep it confidential?
