Friday, November 9, 2007
Carol Anne Gotbaum, the Manhattan mother of three who was arrested for disorderly conduct in a Phoenix airport Sept. 28, did not die by mistreatment at the hands of police — according to an autopsy just released. The Maricopa County’s medical examiner’s office says 45-year old Gotbaum died of accidental “asphyxia by hanging.” The mother, who was heading to rehab, became unruly when she was not permitted on her connecting flight.
