R&B Singer Usher, and his wife, Tameka Foster, welcomed a baby boy today, according to People. The first-time father was with his wife in an Atlanta-area hospital. Mom and son are expected to go home tomorrow.

Celebrity Chef Emeril Lagasse’s show, Emeril Live! was canceled by the Food Network. The chef who put the “foodie” cable network on the map will continue production on Essence of Emeril, his afternoon show without a studio audience. Emeril will cook his last Live! meal on Dec. 11.

According to soccer star David Beckham, you can. Beckham and his wife, Victoria, moved to California with their three kids, Brooklyn, 8, Romeo, 5, and Cruz, 2, four months ago. And now David has told the British Mirror, “They sound as if they are from London—and that is how I want them to sound—but they are getting little parts of an American accent. Romeo keeps saying, ‘Awesome’ a lot, “Awesome, awesome,” Beckham added. Massachusetts Considers ‘Spanking Ban’
State Rep. Jay Kaufman filed a spanking ban petition requested by an Arlington, Mass. nurse, who wants her state to become the first in the nation to stop corporal punishment, according to The Boston Herald. Lawmakers are set to debate the proposed spanking ban at a statehouse hearing Wednesday morning. If the ban becomes a law, parents who hit their children (under age 18) could be charged with abuse or neglect.
