The World's Fastest Turkey Recipe
A quick recipe for Moms who hate to cook even more than turkeys hate getting cooked.
Here are some fast and easy things you can do to ensure a great meal tomorrow....
1. Spice up your bird: Grind up your
favorite herbs (sage, rosemary, parsley, etc) and mix them with one
stick of room temperature butter. Then, rub the herb butter all over
the turkey...make sure to rub some under the skin. Sprinkle with salt
and pepper.
2 Cook your bird according to its weight. The average turkey weighs
14-18 lbs and should be cooked about four hours. To check if it's done,
first wiggle the leg, it should move fairly freely and not be stiff.
Then, cut about 1 inch deep into the bird between its leg and thigh,
and if the juices run clear, you're all set.
3. Remove the bird from the oven, cover it with foil, and let it rest
for 15 minutes. Letting it rest not only allows it to cook for a little
longer, but also during this time the turkey absorbs all the juices it
lost during the cooking process. Resting= a moist bird.
4. Be safe. Choking is prevalent on any massive-consumption holiday,
and you can never be too careful. Check out some safety tips and how to
do the Heimlich maneuver on ehow.com.
Have a happy and safe Thanksgiving!!
