Coffeehouses are cropping up in schools around the country.

Several high schools have installed coffeehouses in their school libraries. At a high school in Tennessee, proceeds from the kids' cappucinos go into a scholarship fund for students. But many dietitians are up in arms over this new trend: "They're already providing horrible school lunches. Now they're adding to that with 800-calorie drinks," registered dietitian Susan Levin told the Associated Press. Parents are divided on the issue. Some are peeved their kids will be drinking more caffeine, but others are just happy this might get their kids to read. What do you think?

I hate this idea! Strong word? Yes,but let me tell you why. I live in the sAN jUAQUIN vALLEY IN California and crystal meth is an epidemic here. It has and does destroy bodies, minds, lives, and families. All the efoort spent trying to keep our kids off the stuff but yet…these energy drinks, and coffee houses are ant peddled to kids in schools, 7-11’s and commercials. Its teaching kids they “need” this artificial energy to get going in the morning. Its a meth dealers perfect storm in the making. When the red bull and/or starbucks isnt enough he/she has something that is. Please people wake up to what these energy pushers are saying to our kids. Normal isnt enough, you need to speed up, be ultra alert..cool. Scared in Clovis, Ca. Kathy
