What's Making These Kids Twitch?

Mysterious illness sweeps Virginia high school.

Students and teachers at William Byrd High School in Vinton, Va. have shown strange symptoms since September including twitching and uncontrollable spasms, but a cause has yet to be determined. What's going on? We asked Friend of Mom•Logic, Pediatrician Dr. Gwenn.

“Typically, these sort of spot-illnesses are caused by an environmental agent or an infection such as a virus,” she says. “This seems to be a very isolated situation and not something parents around the country need to worry about yet.”

The same can’t be said for the Moms of the William Byrd students, though. Hopefully, school and medical officials will figure out the cause of the twitching very soon—because if we were in those Moms’ shoes, we’d be absolutely freaking.

has anyone checked into the Gardasil (hpv) connection? Hundreds and hundreds of nationwide reports of seizures and twitching have been associated with the administration of this vaccine series. many of the cases reported on VAERS end with the girls being referred to a neurologist. Its been proven that administration of Gardasil along with Mencarta has an increased risk of Guilliane-Barre Syndrome. These vaccines are causing neurological impairment. who is looking into this??
