Pets are awarded for saving lives.

Winnie, a cat who woke up her owner to escape a gas leak, and Toby, a golden retriever who administered the Heimlich maneuver on his choking owner, were named Dog and Cat of the Year by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.

No wonder we love animals so much!

These days, dog and cats are pretty much members of the family.
We care for them, feed them, buy them toys, and force them to wear tiny sweaters. It’s about time they stepped up to the plate.

If we could just teach them to help out with the mortgage, we might be on to something.
