Adults will be Kids

Kids, they used to grow up so fast.

Back in the day, when you turned 18 you were officially considered an adult. But lately, adulthood is suffering some growing pains. Heck, it's even got a new name: Emerging adults.
It seems that according to new research, "emerging adults" are desperately clinging to their childhood status. “Kids” who fall into the 18-25 year olds say they're not yet bone-fide adults. Hmm, think that has anything to do with parents cutting the apron strings but leaving
| those purse strings intact? We think so, but the study also considers driving within the speed limit, refraining from getting drunk and having a long-term career as indicators of being a grown up. Okay, so a sober, slow driving person in a steady job counts as an adult? Yikes, not sure that means some of us here at Mom•Logic are full-fledged grown-ups—and a few of us are well into our 40s. | |
