Toy kitchens aren't just for girls anymore.
With the surge in popularity of male chefs, more Moms are running out and buying their boys everything including the kitchen sink, according to CNN. In fact, even toy manufacturers are responding to the growing trend by developing more gender-neutral toy kitchen models.
One of our Mom•Logic writers was ahead of the trend last Christmas when she bought her two boys, 2 1/2 and 1, their first kitchen. "I never even considered it was a 'girl' toy until a Mom of two girls at work kind of chuckled at my choice of toys. I actually bought it hoping that the variety of toy foods would open their minds to try new foods in the real kitchen." |
Are these future men who play in the kitchen on the path to becoming good husbands? Some Moms feel that boys should play with boy toys and that they need to be stopped when it crosses the line.
