How Do You Gift?

Each family has their own style when it comes to holiday presents.

How we celebrate the holidays differs from family to family. Some of us are more traditional, buying gifts for everyone in the entire extended families. Others settle for the Secret Santa route. Still others opt to not buy gifts at all (although we don’t know anyone who does it this way, we hear they’re out there.) Here are what some of our favorite Mom•Logic blogger friends say about how they handle the gift-buying bonanza in December:
Aracely Worley founder of daytrippingmom
“Every year we try to decrease our Christmas gift budget. This year, the plan is to purchase tickets to the L.A. production of Wicked
for all of our immediate family. It's easy and unique. We also will be
able to take advantage of a group sales price on the tickets.”
Tracy McArdle, author of Real Women Eat Beef.
"...with spouses, in-laws, and nieces and nephews, it's the kids who
get the goods, (Kids being under 18). My husband's family, however,
does it the old fashioned way, with lists and gifts for everyone, which
is far more fun and actually possible with the invention of the
Internet.”
Beth Feldman, founder of rolemommy.com
“We don't usually limit gift giving for the kids—although that would
make our lives a heck of a lot easier. Instead, my family usually
hits the mall, or Lord & Taylor or Target and attempt to shop for all
our gifts in one place.”
Samantha Wilson founder of kidproofusa
“My kids are only allowed to give me something that they made, or found (legally—ha ha). i love their gifts most, and just pack them away in their yearly boxes that holds all kinds of keepsakes they bring home throughout the year.”
