At age 28, the actress—wife of Tom Cruise and mommy to daughter Suri—says she’d love to have more children, but isn't in a rush. "We're enjoying our time right now," she told In Style magazine. "Nowadays, Suri is talking up a storm. She loves coloring and creating. She's a great mimic and dancer."
President Bush Vetoes Children’s Health Insurance Bill
The President used his veto pen to strike down legislation that would increase government health insurance funding for disadvantaged children. Bush said he rejected the bill for the second time because it would allow adults into the program, cover families whose incomes are above the U.S. median, and raise taxes.
Airline President Defends "MILF" Campaign
The acronym—used in the movie American Pie to describe sexy moms—is now at the center of a controversial ad campaign for Spirit Airlines. Airline president Ben Baldanza, who defended the use of the term, says that although he knew "MILF" has an alternate meaning, at Spirit, it stands for “Many Islands, Low Fares.”
Food Allergies More Aggressive than Ever
A new report says that children today are no longer growing out of milk and egg allergies by age 3; instead, their allergies are more likely to persist into adulthood. Researchers from Johns Hopkins Children’s Center don’t know why allergies have become more aggressive, but say that pediatricians now need to monitor adolescents to a greater degree than ever before.
At What Age Does Your Child Become an Adult?
A new study published in the Journal of Family Psychology has found that both parents and college students think 18- to 25-year-olds shouldn't be considered adults. According to one expert, longer life spans have encouraged a more leisurely pace of growing up. The term “emerging adults” is now being used to describe those between 18 and 25.
