Spears' memoir about raising famous daughters Britney and Jamie Lynn—Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World—has been put on hold. According to the publisher, it was scheduled to be released in spring 2008, but is being delayed indefinitely because news broke that 16-year-old Jamie Lynn is pregnant with her boyfriend’s child.
Time Magazine Announces "Person of the Year"
Russian President Vladimir Putin was named Time magazine’s "Person of the Year" for 2007. Former Vice President Al Gore was first runner-up. Coming in at number three? Mom/"Harry Potter" creator J.K. Rowling. Glad to hear a Mom is represented in the top three! Go, J.K.!
The New Divorce
According to experts, more couples are opting out of expensive, acrimonious breakups. They're turning instead to an approach known as "collaborative divorce," in which husbands, wives, and their lawyers agree to play fair during the proceedings and reach a reasonable and honorable resolution. Play fair? We like the sound of that.
Fifth Baby for Chris O'Donnell and Wife
Congrats to Chris O'Donnell and his wife, Caroline, who welcomed their fifth child—an eight-pound baby girl named Maeve Frances O'Donnell—on December 10. Their new daughter joins 8-year-old sister Lily and brothers Chip, 7; Charlie, 4; and Finley, 1. Back in August, O’Donnell jokingly broke the pregnancy news by saying that he and his wife were "just starting to figure out how it works." (We're exhausted for them already...)
New Voice for NBC Nightly News
