The National Center for Health Statistics
says this important milestone is “the first time since shortly after
the baby boom ended that the nation has reached the rate of births
needed for a generation to replace itself.”

More stay-at-home Moms are turning to volunteer work as a stepping
stone toward a career path after child birth. “Strategic Volunteering”
allows Moms to develop new skills that can ultimately lead to a paying
job. In other trends, career women are increasingly comfortable sharing
intimate details about their personal lives, such as announcing their
pregnancies, which was typically a safe-guarded secret for women to
avoid discrimination by their employer and co-workers.
People’s Choice Gets a Lift
As the writers strike continues, the 34th Annual People’s Choice Awards
will go on, but it will look quite different from previous years. Queen
Latifah is still on board to tape the pre-taped show, which will
resemble a “magazine-style” special. Producers of the award show
requested a waiver with the union to allow writers to work on the
broadcast, but their request was denied. The writers union also denied
a similar request to the Golden Globes.
Update: Suspect Arrested in Student Porn Star Death
Police arrested the man suspected of killing 18-year-old college
student Emily Sander, who told her parents on Thanksgiving that she had
started a career in the internet porn industry. Emily went missing on
Nov. 23 and her body was found six days later.

For Mom’s Who Are Facing “The Talk” With Their Teens A Good Topic To Begin With Is The Hardships That Teen Parents Face. I Too Was A Teen Parent, I Had My First At 17 and My Second At 19. The Difference Is That I Had Graduated High school, My Pregnancy Was Planned and I Was Married Prior To Giving Birth To My First Child. Five Years Of Being Married and Raising Two Children Has Provided Myself With The Grounds To Share What I Have Learned.
Mom’s Of Teens Need To Convey To Their Children The Struggles That A Teen Parent Can Face, Especially A Single Teen Parent. Offer Statistics, Research or Any Form Of Substantial Information To Support That Pregnancy and Parenthood Is Not Exactly What Tabloids Portray. Yes, Children Are A Blessing and Parenthood Is Amazing But Parenthood Requires A Maturity Level And Responsibility That Most Teens (And Even Some Adults) Cannot Imagine.

I wish that we would stop looking a people who are considered “stars” and look to our parent/family memembers who have had great lives and are successful at being themselves instead of letting our children look up to people who are just like us “human”. Why consider the “stars” as some kind of gods. They are human as everyone but i think this 16 yr old wanted attention because all of it was being forcused on her older sister. We all make mistakes but the more the NEWS covers it the more hipe it will get, leave the girl alone and let us normal people get on with our lives. This young girl has to live with this mistake the rest of her life and it won’t be an easy life.
