How many polar bears can call themselves celebrities? Knut — who tugged on the heartstrings of humans around the world as a chubby orphan cub — celebrates his first birthday today in Berlin.
What do you get an orphaned polar bear who has everything? How about a cake—made from 300 eggs and more than 30 pounds each of flour and sugar, and 22 pounds of marzipan. That sounds rich. It's said to be so fattening for the dieting Knut's 240 pound frame that he won't even be allowed to indulge, according to CNN. Really? Not even a sliver?
