Woman gives birth to 15.2 pound baby boy.

huge.jpg
We've all heard about big babies being born to women with gestational diabetes, but WHOAH, 15.2 pounds is one big kid. His Mom, age 37, gave birth yesterday via c-section (thankfully) in Indonesia. The average weight of a newborn baby is about 7 pounds.
One of our Mom•Logic writers gave birth to an 11 pound baby boy two years ago. She said he came into the world looking like he was ready for kindergarten. Did you have a big baby? Tell us about it—comment below!

My son was 11 pounds, 12 ounces at birth, no gestational diabetes. He looked like he was 3 months old already…but he was never “fat”. He was just really solid (even now, at 5, he’s 60# but his hip bones stick out and you can count every rib!). We moved to a new city when I was 36 weeks along and it was December. I blame the countless Christmas cookies I ate those last four weeks.

My son was 10 lbs. 5 oz at birth (a week before his due date), no gestational diabetes either. The week before he was born, a tech doing an ultra sound took one look at the foot on the screen and began laughing uncontrollably. The nurses didn’t have diapers large enough to fit him in the delivery room, so they just wrapped him up in a blanket and handed him to us.

my son was 11 pounds 2 ounces at birth, no gestational diabetes, two days after his due date. he is our 6th child and when we called the hospital to say that we were coming in because i was in labor they told us to hurry because it would probably go fairly quickly. not exactly. 20 hours later (but only 30 mins of pushing) we got a very big and thankfully very healthy baby boy! i had a steady headache for a week after his birth and every day a different part of my body was crazy sore. one of the nurses told me that it was lucky he was my sixth kid, else i would never have been able to deliver him vaginally. hmm….now what was she trying to say??
