The Holidays Can Be So Puzzling

Okay, we know Hanukkah starts tomorrow at sundown. But if you're as in love with these Jewish Holiday Puzzles
as we are, you'll hopefully forgive us for this last-minute gift
suggestion. Don't want to spring for FedEx delivery? No worries. My Mom
Shops says this is "a gift that will last throughout the year in case
it doesn't arrive quite on time."
In other blog news...
• Before hitting the mall for holiday shopping, Michael at Parent Hacks stamps his kid's hand with a return address label. "We use our address stamp and stamp his hand, especially when going to a mall or big event with lots of little ones running around," he says. "If he would rather have a sticker, I have pre-printed address labels (from my computer) as a backup. If he ever gets lost, he knows to find an employee or police officer and show them his stamp or sticker." It's also recommended that you write your cell phone number on the label, just in case of emergency. Why didn't we think of that?
• Mommy Poppins gives pointers on how to not spoil your kids during the holidays. Our favorite? Create traditions, not garbage. "The best holiday memories are going to come from being together," she says. "Why not skip the stuff all together and give gifts that create togetherness, like tickets to an event or even just an offer to go do something special together?" Since we cringe at the mere thought of all the clutter that's about to invade our homes, we think this is a great idea!
