Update: Aussie Brat Turns Celebrity?

Now his sunglasses are even more famous.
UPDATE: The Aussie YouTube brat has decided to turn professional and will host a national party tour, he told Reuters. Delaney said he had been signed by an Australian celebrity agent and will soon host and DJ parties. Give us a break!
Jan. 16, 2:00 p.m. - Moms across the country cringed when they watched this viral video of Corey Delaney, the 16-year-old Australian kid who allegedly threw a huge house party when his parents were on holiday and incurred a $20,000 fine from police.
This morning, Mom•Logic spoke with the police department in
Australia regarding this incident, and we were shocked by what we
learned. According to Media Officer Katherine Kass, the teen, Corey
Worthington Delaney, has been arrested and charged with producing child
pornography and for creating a public nuisance. Apparently, a video made at the
party featuring sex acts between a female minor and a male minor was
found in his room. Corey was arrested today, but has since been bailed
out. No word yet on whether his parents bailed him out, or for how
much. He is due in court Feb. 22 to face these charges.
(Sunglasses optional?)

This story has become an international one, and the media is
currently camped outside the Delaney home. Our calls to Delaney were
unsuccessful—Corey himself answered and said he’s been getting hounded
by the press and is not speaking right this second. He then hung up on
us not once but twice. Sweet.
Shh...if you listen closely, you can hear Moms of teens across the country dialing their travel agents to cancel any upcoming kid-free vacation plans. A story like Corey's makes you never want to leave your kids home alone again! Do you allow your teens to stay home alone when you go on vacation? Have they ever thrown any wild parties that you found out about? Share your story, so Mrs. Delaney knows she's not alone.
I throwed a party one time in our family barn when my pa and ma was out of town on a retreat and it was the best time ever. There was some drinkin’ and dancin’ but nothing so crazy like that there australian fellow. Cow tippin. Good country fun.
This article is moronic.
‘Yesterday, Moms across the country cringed when they watched this viral video of Corey Delaney…’
Loosen up your knickers and relax. Kids party and have a tendancy to be defiant. you were no different when you were younger, or alternatively, you were a priggish square.
Sure he went too far, and deserrves some kind of punishment, and obviously his parents are delinquent but come on. What about the 500 hundred kids that showed up and trashed the place? Don’t they bear some serious responsibility too? Nah, let’s just crucify this one? Rubbish!!!
Sally, obviously you’re not the mother of a teen! How would you feel if you got a $20,000 bill for your teen’s actions? I can assure you I never incurred a $20,000 fine for partying when I was a teenager, but I was not a “priggish square” either!
This is so wrong, but for some reason I find myself admiring the kid’s chutzpah.
What a little brat! I partied hard in my day, but I never disrespected anyone the way he did in that video. I also never damaged police cars or my neighbors’ houses.
Teenagers will be defiant and rebel against their parents, but that’s no excuse for his blatant disrespect. That boy needs a harsh reality check.
The simple fact is that the parents are responsible for any unpaid damages. If they cannot prove exactly who did the other damage, it is their responsibility. It is their house that the party was hosted at and, as a result, they must take care of the bill.
I think the real issue here is why would they leave a kid *LIKE THAT* alone?
Matt
Well, I’m happy to be a “priggish square” then because as a teen I never once had a party like this nor was I ever present at one and I don’t feel like I missed out on anything.
Why on earth do we parents have to accept that this is typical teen behavior? Under age drinking is NOT a rite of passage…it’s dangerous. And no, I will not be leaving my teens alone or condoning this kind of partying for them.
The 20 grand is the bill for the use of the Police helicopter and dog squad that was used in the overkill of a response to the party. There is no way they can fine the parents for this anyway!
The “Sex acts” were some teenagers playing twister whilst partially clothed. The charge is unlikely to stand and again the police look heavy handed and a little desperate.

My son once threw a party when I was gone. My lamp got broken and I made him replace it. I also made him clean the entire house and grounded him for the rest of the school year.
