Best Internet Sites for Kids Ages 2-4

All Mom-tested, Mom•Logic approved.
These days, we are just as likely to let our kids play on the computer as sit in front the TV (except for those strong-willed Moms out there who ban TV altogether—how do they do it?!) That’s why it's become more important than ever to make sure kids are getting the most from their time spent on the Internet—and we don’t mean just loitering around Club Penguin. We've created a three-part series of best Web site bets in small, medium and large-kid versions. We start with the little ones, kids ages 2-4.
![]() | BookPALS Story Online When you tire of reading to your kids—have professional actors do it for you! The Screen Actors Guild Foundation BookPALS features popular storybooks read by such stars as Amanda Bynes, Jason Alexander, Hilary Duff, Jane Kaczmarkek, and when you fancy a Noble Peace Prize in the house, Al Gore. |
![]() | Kneebouncers Each cute, fun and colorful activity on kneebouncers is controlled by keyboard keys—ANY key—perfect for little ones who haven't yet mastered the mouse. The games feature a cast of wacky characters, for a change not tied into any television show so you don’t have to worry about having to “collect 'em all!” Check out “All Aboard” where kids get to control a train, a car and tractor. Just put your tyke on your lap and go! |
![]() | The National Zoo If you can’t take your kid to the zoo—do the next best thing. Visit the National Zoo. A big hit with all ages, the live webcams allow curious kids to watch their favorite animals 24/7. Or, take a "storybook" zoo tour and search for animals in their favorite books. (One Mom here takes her daughter to see all the animals that traipse through the zoo keepers house in Good Night Gorilla. (BTW: That zoo keeper’s wife is one patient woman—think she pops a valium now and then?) |

YouTube YouTube is the perfect place for little ones with short attention spans. The clips are a couple minutes each and you can create customized playlists so you can collect your toddler's faves and play them again, and again, and again and again. Say your tyke’s nuts over babies—there must be a zillion videos of babies laughing, dancing and having meltdowns that’ll please even the most discriminating toddler. Or, just cue up an old favorite from classic Sesame Street that you both can enjoy. |

Teletubbies.com What is it with the British and strange candy colored baby-like alien characters? Not only did our cousins across the pond come up with Teletubbies, they're also the masterminds behind Boobah. Although around the Mom•Logic office, we're not all fans of these shows, we think the Web sites offer some fun, easy and educational games. Everything from counting to nursery ryhmes. One of our favorites is simply clicking on Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po to hear them say Eh-oh! Addictive. |
