Video Casts Doubt on Meter Reader?

Wednesday, January 2, 2008
A month before Caylee Anthony's remains were discovered, a private investigator videotaped the area and found nothing. Does the utility worker who discovered the Orlando toddler's body have a secret?

Anyone following the Caylee Anthony murder case knows what you see is not what you get. Case in point: Mild-mannered utility worker Roy Kronk, working his route, happens to find the remains of Caylee in December. Days later, it's revealed he had called the police with tips on the case three separate times in August. Investigators call Kronk merely a "concerned citizen" and not a person of interest -- but that has many of us scratching our heads.

Now another equally bizarre twist:

According to sources, a private investigator working for Cindy and George Anthony says he videotaped the area where Caylee's remains were found one month before and found no evidence of the toddler's remains.

Sgt. Carlos Padilla of the Orange County Sheriffs Office told momlogic that investigators haven't seen the footage, allegedly taken by private investigator Jim Hoover, because "Hoover was shopping the tape around to media" rather than bringing it directly to authorities. "It's mind boggling when you have numerous people involved in this [case] and you have to wonder what's their intention," laments Padilla.

If the footage, reportedly time-stamped in November, does document the wooded area as  evidence-free, how did Kronk manage to find the remains in December? Is it possible the meter reader has some connection to Casey Anthony? Some are theorizing that Casey's brother Lee Anthony might have passed on information from Casey to Kronk. Recently, it's been rumored Lee may be charged with obstruction of justice and aiding and abetting Casey.

As far as police are concerned, Padilla says the investigators and the F.B.I. believe Kronk has no ties to the Anthonys, calling him a "credible" witness. Padilla even sites evidence of Kronk's altruistic behavior when he failed to collect the reward money offered by Crimeline for information leading to the find. At first, says Padilla, Kronk was told he wasn't qualified to collect the reward because he called in the last tip to 911 rather than Crimeline. "He didn't say it was unfair. He just mentioned it to a friend who looked into it for him." Kronk did eventually collect the $5,000 dollar reward.

Be prepared for more surprises in a case that Padilla says has been "Not normal from the get go. It's been one thing after another. This is not a typical case."

Roy Kronk needs to be investigated. He has profited off of the death of a child. He claims he saw what he though was a skull protruding out of the water. This was before tropical storm Faye hit.
