Unless Garcelle talked with both teens and also the girl’s parents about discussing this publicly, I don’t think she should have spoken about this to those watching the video. While many might be more blase about sex than in the past, it is still a personal and private matter. I think it’s great that the teens chose to tell their parents about their decision but for someone other than those participants to then broadcast that decision to a public that probably includes people who know the teens is a bit much, especially if the teens are otherwise keeping it to themselves or the girl’s parents don’t know she was speaking openly about it.
Secondly, I think it is wrong that someone in the video responded by saying, “did you go over to that tramp’s house” or something along those lines. Even if you believe teens should wait to have sex, he was just as much a part of the sex as she was and that statement harks to the old attitude that a girl who doesn’t wait is a tramp while the guy is somehow not as culpable, even if that wasn’t meant by the comment it still isn’t cool.
