Celeb Moms and Moms-to-be are popping up all over February fashion magazines.
We don’t know about you, but when we were pregnant, the last thing we
wanted to do was get our picture taken. Sure, some of us had that
“pregnancy glow”…but often it was just right before we succumb to
morning sickness. But, it seems, celebrities’ love nothing more than
showing off their burgeoning bellies for all the world to see. Here's
some of what each had to say about the impact pregnancy and motherhood
is having on her life.
Halle Barry in InStyle: “My skin is aglow
from all of the hormones. I actually wear
less makeup now. I want to stay pregnant forever.” Halle might be
missing the point of pregnancy.
Jessica Alba in Elle: “I’m the oldest of 15
cousins, so I’ve known I wanted kids," confesses the
soon-to-be-27-year-old. She adds, “I’m feeling old, yes … 27 was when
Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, and Jim Morrison all died.”
Well, Jessica, just make sure you don't do heroin and you'll probably
be okay.
Jennifer Lopez in Harper's Bazaar: On waiting 'til she was practically crowning to make the official baby announcement, “I feel everyone knew anyway. I was on tour with this bubble gut.” No, our first clue was that we could see the baby kicking from the audience!
Reese Witherspoon in Marie Claire: . "I think, like every working parent, I sometimes feel that there are not enough hours in they day. But overall, I'm very fortunate that my job has a lot of flexibility. I spend a lot of time with the kids, just around the house. They're still pretty young, so I feel like what I can mostly do is listen to them and be there for them."
Kate Hudson in Glamour: On paparazzi and kids: [They] follow your child with whomever takes them to school, whether it’s me, whether it’s Chris. We can understand that. We can laugh at the absurdity of it. But [the child] hates it. And they don’t understand it. They aren’t able to experience their life in the present and be a kid. And that’s the most frustrating thing. Because it’s not real life.”
Sarah Jessica Parker in Allure: "We didn't have most of the things that our peer groups had. I won't pretend I didn't notice. But now I am really grateful that that was my upbringing, and it's one of the things that makes me nervous about being the parent that I am", she says thinking of her son James Wilkie. “I feel like he's at a strange disadvantage being a child of privilege.”
