A couple of fourth graders reenact the flagpole scene from A Christmas Story and end up "tongue-tied."
Turns out you CAN believe everything you see in the movies! Just ask Gavin Dempsey and James Alexander, two Indiana boys who thought they’d put that “your tongue will get stuck to a frozen flag pole” myth to the test. The results? The boys tongues fused to the flagpole and they both ended up with bloody tongues. Sorry, but it’s true. Which one issued the first double-dog dare is unclear. What is clear is kids love to imitate what they see on the little and big screens.
Here are five other popular kid movie stunts we'd prefer our children don't try:
5) High School Musical 2Movie stunt: Kids perform "I Don't Dance" in the middle of a baseball game.
Real life: Kids would get the sh*t kicked out of them by two entire baseball teams.
4) Home Alone
Movie stunt: Mccauley Culkin outsmarts robbers.
Real life: Intruders are rarely fooled by slapstick antics. Instead, calling 911 or getting to a "safe spot" is probably the best bet.
3) Cheaper by the Dozen
Movie stunt: Kids put meat in Ashton Kutcher’s underwear so dogs will attack him.
Real life: Meat-laced underwear is the kind of "cartoon" stunt that could lead to serious injury, same is true for every genius plan of Wile E. Coyote's.
2) American Pie
Movie stunt: A teenage boy uses a pie for sexual experimentation.
Real life: Talk to your kids about sex so they don't have to have their first sexual experience with a pastry.
1) And, of course...anything from Jackass.
