The Mom-to-be had been missing since Dec. 19.
The missing pregnant Marine Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach is dead, according to CNN. The suspect in the case is a senior officer whom Lauterbach had accused of assault, Sheriff Ed Brown said at a news conference Friday. The suspect is not in custody, Brown said. Lauterbach, 20, was eight months pregnant. Our hearts go out to Maria's Lauterbach's family.

Early in the case the mother was quoted as saying:
“According to court documents filed this week, Lauterbach’s mother told investigators that her daughter was bipolar and had a history of compulsive lying. Steiner said the family wanted to give authorities a fair and accurate impression, and that while Lauterbach tended to stretch the truth in stressful situations, “she was not a compulsive liar.”
Well her daughter is dead now, I wonder how this so-called mother feels now??? She should have been there for her daughter and almost grandbaby. Now both are lost.
