It’s a boy! Baby Dolphin Gets Ready to Make his Debut
After a mandatory waiting period to ensure his safety, Mavrick, a 3-month-old Atlantic Bottle nose dolphin, made his first public appearance to the media at the Dolphin Discovery at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California. The public will get their first view of the dolphin calf and his 28-year-old mother, Chelsea, when the park re-opens March 5th. Awww.
U.S. Issues Alternative Passport
Americans who jet-set to the Caribbean and Mexico, or tour Canada won’t need a traditional passport to cross the border starting this Spring. The U.S. government will start issuing a wallet-sized, less expensive passport, which is valid for up to 10 years. Sounds like the perfect excuse for a vacation from the kids.
Anger-Management Teacher Breaks Student’s Finger
A Cloverdale, Indiana middle school teacher has apologized and resigned after breaking the index finger of a student during what was described as “horse play.” Student, Jordan Mundy, says he and his favorite teacher, Scott Porter, were wrestling when things got rough. Prosecutors are deciding whether to file charges against Porter, but Mundy’s mother, Michelle Britton, says she already plans to sue. Of course she does.
