Noggin Network Now Airs Day and Night
Set your TiVos! The network aimed at preschoolers just went from airing
12 hours a day to 24! Noggin will remain commercial-free with shows
such as Jack's Big Music Show, Oobi and The Upside Down Show. To fill the additional 12 hours of airtime each day, Noggin plans to premiere three original shows in 2008: Queen Bees, The Assistants and The N's Student Body.
Tests Offered to Parents to Detect Underage Drinking
Because
underage drinking in Hawaii is on the rise, the Honolulu Liquor
Commission is providing parents with saliva testing strips to check if
kids have consumed alcohol. Some child advocates support the
initiative, but feel parents should talk to kids first about underage
drinking, and then use the kits as a last resort. What do you think?
Bible-Reading Mom Kicked Off Bus
A Texas Mom is seeking an apology from the city's mass
transit system after being escorted off a city bus for reading the
bible aloud to her children on their way to church. Transit officials
claim she was being loud and disruptive, but the woman feels she was
booted for reading religious material.
Baby Name Regret?
Ten percent of Moms considered changing their baby's names, for reasons
ranging from being inspired by another name to relatives disagreeing
with their choice, according to a recent poll by Babycenter.com.
Experts say it's legal to do so, as long as both parents consent. Any

Man Takes Mom's Advice Instead of $185,000
A Connecticut man found an envelope containing a check for $185,000 on
the sidewalk. Reggie Damone, 47, who receives food stamps and works at
McDonald's, returned the check to the owner's family and said although
he knew it could pay some bills, he remembered his mother's advice: "If
you take something, you lose three times that amount -- and if you do
something good, something good comes back to you."
