Golden Globe Winners Announced
Last night, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association rolled up the red carpet and announced this year's Golden Globe winners via press conference instead of the usual star-studded gala. Extra's Dayna Devon and other entertainment anchors were on hand to announce the winners in over 25 categories. Winners included Johnny Depp for best actor in a comedy or musical, two-time mom Cate Blanchett for best supporting actress, and Ratatouille for best animated film. Good thing we saw one movie from this high brow selection of Golden Globe winners. And it rhymes with Ka-blooey.

Got Money? Milk Prices Rising
The cost of milk is up 36 percent from last winter, soaring to an average of $4.31 a gallon in New York City. Nationally, the cost of dairy and related products rose 14 percent between November 2006 and November 2007, according to the Consumer Price Index. The reason? Cattle are being fed a more expensive corn-based fuel additive ethanol that "has increased the average American's grocery bill $47 since July," said NY Sen. Chuck Schumer, citing figures from Iowa State University. First gas, now milk. What's next? Apple juice?

Stuffed Animals May Ease Stressful Life Events in Young Children
Caring for a stuffed animal appears to alleviate stress signs in young kids exposed to traumatic or stressful life events, according to a report published in the journal Pediatrics. "Shifting attention from oneself to others can be very healthy for individuals under stressful times," says Dr. Avi Sadeh of Tel Aviv University. Does it work for stressed-out parents, too? There's nothing like bringing a Hello Kitty to the office to break up the tension.

First Grader Saves Choking Classmate's Life
A 7-year-old boy in Granite City, Illinois is being hailed as a hero after saving a choking classmates life. Ben Mathenia used the Heimlich Maneuver his dad once taught him to un-lodge a small plastic ninja figurine from his friend, Drake Wilson's, throat. Check back later for Mom•Logic's exclusive interview with the boy's mom who shares her son's incredible story and tells us how he learned this live-saving maneuver .

Scientists Create Heart
Researchers at the University of Minnesota have created a beating rat heart. Scientists are encouraged by this advancement and believe that, with modifications and further research, they may be able to reproduce a human heart (and other organs) within the next 10 years. If you're reading this quickly, no—doctors will not be using rat hearts in place of human ones, but we would like to try that out once on a really nasty preschool Mom we know.
