J. Lo and Marc Anthony choose baby names: Star has exclusively learned that the couple will name their twin boy and girl, Max and Emme. Grandma Lopez was spotted purchasing bracelets with the babies' names engraved.

Black and Hispanic kids catching up to white kids in areas of health, safety and income: A study sponsored by the Foundation for Child Development
says the overall gap between black and white children closed by
one-fourth and between Hispanics and whites by one-third. Mom and
Showtime correspondent Karen Bryant is somewhat skeptical. "I don't
like that we're so far behind. It's upsetting when I drive around urban
areas and see so many kids who are so obese, and there is not a gym or
park where people can get the exercise that they need. Maybe it's good
that there's more of a consciousness to change things for the better.
Time will tell if the numbers will change or if it's a fluke."

Important Information for Moms of children with ADHD: A new report in the journal of Developmental Medicine & Child Neurology finds that children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder are four times as likely to bully other children than those who do not have ADHD (via MSNBC).

Britney boosts the economy: The troubled pop star may be making headlines for her bizarre behavior and bitter custody dispute, but she is also making a lot of people rich. CD sales, paparazzi photos and over-time for police officers make up the estimated $120 million that Britney Spears contributes to the economy. See, there is positive Britney news after all!

Under 50? Digital mammograms are better: Women, listen up. New research shows that digital mammograms are better at detecting lumps in young woman than film mammography. The digital machines can cost up to four times more than the traditional system, but according to research published in the journal Radiology, it's worth the cost. We need to make ourselves heard so insurance companies will cover the cost. Talk to your OB/GYN and forward this news to your girlfriends. Together, we can all make a difference.

Call me a cynic but I’m willing to wager that the reason the gap is closing ISN’T because things are improving for minority children, it’s because they’re getting worse for white children as the middle class shrinks and the chasm between the poor and the wealthy widens daily.
