Etch-a-Sketch & Television: Together at Last?
The Digital Age is hooking up with classic toys. Isn't it time we pull the plug?

There comes a time in every society when new innovations get out of hand. That time is now. Ohio Arts has upgraded Etch-a-Sketch, the simple drawing device with the mysterious black substance (actually aluminum powder), to Etch-a-Sketch Wired which hooks up directly to your television. At last children can sit immobile in front of the T.V and draw to their heart’s content. Okay, we’re confused, wasn’t one of the major selling points of Etch-a-Sketch the portability factor? If so, we guess “Magna-Doodle in HD” isn’t too far off. When does it end? It doesn’t. We must keep improving on things that don’t need improvement.
Must. Make. Things. Better.
Check out these classic toy upgrades, possibly coming to a toy store near you:
Wii Ant Farm: Control the paths your “ants” take in their very own virtual farm.
Game Boy Slinky: Watch your virtual Slinky go down a flight of stairs. Kids control how many steps!
X-Box Pet Rock: Kids play to see who can stare at a stationary rock the longest.
