Why is it not okay for our kids to call each other names when everyone's labeling Britney a "trainwreck?"

The media certainly has a field day coming up with fun new ways to put down Britney Spears. Like relentless taunts from schoolyard bullies, she's been called everything from Pop Wreck, Un-fitney, to Hurricane Brit.

Yes, she's a celebrity, yes she's extremely troubled, but aren't we sending mixed signals to our children if on one hand we reprimand them for calling an overweight boy "fatso," but we're not offended when Britney is pegged a "psycho" (and worse) in the press? We don't need a degree in psychology to know that name-calling isn't constructive and often ends up a self-fulfilling prophecy. Want your kid to behave badly? Keep telling them they're rotten--and presto-- you've got an incorrigible child on your hands. So, if you call a popstar a wreck, will she become one? Maybe not, but it doesn't set a good example for adults to be so mean-spirited to someone who is obviously in a great deal of pain.

So.... considering that this week is officially No Name-Calling Week, an annual week of educational activities aimed at ending name-calling in schools, we call for a moratorium on taunting Britney to show our kids we can rise above the bullies. With us?
