The Real Lipstick Jungle

Tuesday, January 22, 2008

Pageant contestants can be downright ruthless when vying for the crown.

First, there was the beauty queen who had pepper spray doused all over her dress. Now, lipstick is the culprit. Jessica Wittenbrink, 21, was crowned "Miss South Florida Fair" Saturday night at the Miss South Florida Fair Pageant, a lead-in competition to the Miss America Pageant. But authorities were called in to investigate an apparent attempt to sabotage her $3500 gown, which was marked with four large lipstick streaks. She and her Mom spoke to Today this morning about how pagaent producers frantically tried to remove the stains backstage.

I would be steaming mad if that happened to my daughter. But then again I wouldn’t want her to be in a pageant anyway. Little Miss Sunshine, anyone?
