Angelina Jolie: Baby on Board?

Is it safe for the superstar to fly to Jordan if she's really pregnant?
Is she or isn't she? Baby rumors were flying when she wore that caftan dress to the SAG awards. Then this week, the possibly-pregnant Angelina Jolie jumped on a plane to Jordan. If she is indeed pregnant, as is being reported by US and seemingly everyone else, is it safe to fly?
Some OB/GYNs say no, citing increased chance of miscarriage. But OB/GYN and friend of Mom•Logic Dr. Suzanne Gilberg-Lenz says flying while newly-preggo is perfectly safe. "There's no data on there being any harm in flying in the first trimester," she says. However, she warns, pregnant patients have an elevated risk for developing blood clots in their legs while flying. "But there are things women can do to combat this: Move their legs around, wear compression stockings, and stay well hydrated," she advises.
Did you fly during your pregnancy? Any tips for Angelina? Comment below.
Why do you even print that there are doctors who think a pregnant woman should never fly? That opinion has been discredited. That shouldn’t still be a part of any intelligent discussion. Is it because you want to create a controversy when there is none? You do a disservice to women everywhere by your implications.
My OB/GYN told me I COULD NOT fly in the first trimester. I even had to cancel 2 trips because of it. All I could do was trust my doctor. I guess it’s kind of controversial though.
My doctor advised me not to fly to my brother’s wedding while in my first trimester. I guess you don’t know every doctor, Katherine. And, if that’s still being told to people, I’m glad my feelings aren’t discredited and it is brought up. All topics need to be brought up in order to clear them up. They can’t just be ignored when many, many people still believe them.
Every OB-Gyn has different thoughts on everything My ob-gyn says its safe to have dental work and my insurance even encourages because of the change a womans mouth goes through due to hormones but my friends ob-gyn told her to absolutely not have any dental work done. so every doctor is different. I have always heard that flying in your 3rd trimester is not safe just because if you go into labor at your destination you may not be able to get back to your ob-gyn.
I’m 12 weeks now with my first, 36, and have already flown to Hawaii and cross country to the east coast twice in 2 months. My baby is healthy, and doc says there it should be fine for the next 2 months of heavy (business) travel. My only worry is throwing up on the plane, which thankfully hasn’t happened yet!
Hi, how I can send PM?

As an airline pilot who has flown through both of my pregnancies, I never had a problem (and if you’re the pilot, you don’t get the luxury of getting up and walking around to prevent blood clots!). Same goes for my various female-colleagues who have flown throughout their pregnancies.
Only issue I have found thus far is the lifting of your bags…don’t do it. Check your baggage, don’t be trying to heft a 40 lb suitcase into the overhead bin.
