An innovative anti-bullying program uses cute babies to teach students empathy.
In Seattle schools, babies are teaching kids not to be bullies. The program, called Roots of Empathy, brings irresistable infants into the classroom to get kids more interested in understanding how other people feel, and how to communicate their own emotions.
And it's working, reports the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. A recent study found that 88% of children who had completed the program showed a decrease in aggressive behaviors such as bullying. "When empathy goes up, bullying goes down," Roots of Empathy founder Mary Gordon, a Mom and former kindergarten teacher, said.
Aw. Moms always knew babies could change the world.
