Moms Are Talking About...

 

I’m curious about the stay-at-home moms making six-figure salaries. I missed the story (because I was at work). It just makes me wonder how they make the money. If they are working from home, yes, they are at home, but are they really “present” with their children? Wouldn’t they just be distracted and not focused on the child? And wouldn’t that just completely defeat the purpose of staying at home with the kids? Honestly, I choose to work, and I enjoy my time at home because my mind is not cluttered with “work stuff.” As tempting as it would be to work from home, I can’t imagine that my child would appreciate being ignored when I was in the middle of trying to meet a deadline or make a business call. Those are my thoughts… did anyone actually catch the story or know where I can see it?

1. The jobs for SAHMs link is broken. 2. I’m not sure how I feel yet about showing children images of the Holocaust. It’s one thing to shield your kids from Rambo and Grand Theft Auto, but the Holocaust was an actual historical event. Showing your kids what people are capable of is integral for them to have a realistic view of life. But at the same time, I’m not so confident that 10 year-olds could grasp the seriousness of the Holocaust either.
