New drug store test predicts whether you're having a boy or girl in just minutes.
When we first saw IntelliGender on the store shelf, we were a little skeptical. The product claims you can find out the sex of your child armed with just your first morning's urine and 10 minutes. We had our Fashion & Beauty editor Mary Alice Haney, currently preggers with a boy, test it out. Check out the video to see if it works.

The Intelligender sounds like a cool product, but I personally did not find out the gender of either of my kids when I was pregnant. I loved being surprised, and it made labor a lot more fun just knowing I would find out if it was a boy or a girl. After 9 months of waiting, I was just busting with excitement over finding out. When the doctor says “it’s a boy” or “it’s a girl,” it is so exciting. There is no feeling like this in the world! My mom always said there are very few GOOD surprises in life, and this is one of them. I wholeheartedly agree.

How exciting! I am SO doing this next time! I’m one of those who simply can’t stand waiting until the ultrasound that tells you if it’s a boy or a girl. I can’t wait to rush out to the stores and start buying blue or pink and getting the nursery ready.

I think this is such a great alternative to ultra sound that research is beginning to show may not be as safe as we had thought… For me, I was able to find out the sex of my first two boys early on, by use of routine ultrasound and I found it helped me to bond with my boys so quickly. I was able to get to know them, chose a name, and call them by their names while I was pregnant. And that moment when they were born was all the more amazing because I finally got to meet this little boy I had come to know so well. My third baby wouldn’t cooperate at the ultrasound and I was unable to find out the sex of the baby. After 2 boys I am not sure if I had hoped for a girl, but I was so scared I would be disappointed at the birth if my child was a boy. And that fear really did affect the birthing process for me. Turns out I wasn’t disappointed at all- I was completely overjoyed to have another boy, but I must say it has taken me much longer to get to know my son. He has been so different from my other boys and I wonder if that has to do with me not knowing who he was before his birth. I would have used this test had I known about it, and if I do have another baby I will be using it wholeheartedly!

yea i got this test cause at my first ultrasound at 18wks they couldn’t tell the sex of the baby because of the position it was in, so i was frustrated and bought this test. th my dismay my husband began calling everyone and telling them that its a bot, and i kept thinking what if its wrong. well after receiving almost all boy stuff at my baby shower, at 38 wks, my dr ordered another ultrasound and the test was right! its a boy!
