Political Mommentary from Ronda Kaysen: Who's the best Mom for the White House?

boxing_candidates.jpg

With the spouses now sparring in public, we want to know: How do the potential First Ladies (and gentleman) stand up to the Mom test?

The Working Mom: Harvard and Princeton educated, Michelle Obama earned $212,000 a year at the University of Chicago before leaving to help her husband with his campaign. With two young girls (ages 6 and 9), Michelle, 44, laments the woes of a working Mom and says she's home every night to tuck her daughters in and get them up for school in the morning.

The Military Mom: Cindy McCain, the 53-year-old heiress and mother of four (and former beauty queen), is standing by her man in light of recent allegations. But with two of her kids in active duty in the military, Cindy has a lot at stake in this election.

The Mr. Mom: Hoping to return to his old White House haunts, Bill Clinton, 61, just may become the country's First Dad. But Bill is also something of a bulldog for Hillary, defending his wife's honor at all costs.

The "Momboy": Known as "First Tomboy" in Arkansas, 52-year-old Janet Huckabee is one tough cookie. The mother of three was raised by a single mom, survived spinal cancer, ran two marathons, and shot a grenade launcher. She's also a hard-hitting Mama, known for teasing her kids in public

Come next January, one of these folks will be the new First Mom (or Dad). So ... we want to know: Does the personality of a candidate's spouse influence your vote?

Um, no. It doesn’t affect me. I’m not voting on the spouse.

A person’s spouse doesn’t really affect me one way or the other, though as First Lady (or First Man) she or he will have a lot of power. Perhaps we should take their personality into account. Laura Bush looks like an evil witch, by the way.

I don’t care about the spouses of those running for the Presidential office. They won’t be the ones in charge of our military and our country. I don’t care what their jobs are/were… I don’t care what their personalities are like… I don’t care what they look like. That being said, why did the previous poster feel the need to say what she thinks Laura Bush looks like? Not only was it rude and thoughtless, it was also immature. It’s scary to think people like that are voting…
