"I Hate Celebrity Baby Photos"

Two Moms sound off about celebrity babies in the media.
When we told you about Christina Aguilera's photo shoot with her son, Max, in People magazine, many Moms had something to say. Mom April said, "I hate seeing babies/children in magazines--especially when they're on the covers. I refuse to buy any magazine that supports it. I just feel that children have no business being public fodder. What's really sad is that Aguilera might have felt like she had to do it on her own terms, otherwise the paparazzi would have been stalking her family." Another Mom agreed with April. "People have been having babies since Adam and Eve," she says. "Why is it so important to see a celebrity's newborn baby? I remember a time when it wasn't cool for a singer or actress to have a baby, the public never knew. These days for some reason photogs are tripping over themselves, and putting others in harm's way, to get the shot. It's really sick and sad."

I can’t agree with this one. We’re interested in their lives and their pregnancies, so we’re interested in seeing their new babies. What’s the harm in that? If Christina can calm the paparazzi by having a photo shoot showcasing her newborn, more power to her. I don’t see a problem with this at all. What mom doesn’t want to show off her newborn?!

If Christina Aguilera walked out of her door one day, with all that garbage on her face, the bleach on her scalp still stinging from her daily touch-up, and no one was there to bother her, she would go back inside, call up her manager and demand some attention. Give me a break. The only person who deserves pity in this situation is, of course, that poor baby.
