After $5 was allegedly stolen in class, teachers took matters into their own hands.
At a school in Hopkinsville, KY, third graders were treated like common criminals after $5
went missing in class. According to Fox News,
the kids were asked to remove their socks and shoes, and were then
patted down and searched by four teachers. Really? All over $5? Do you
think these teachers went too far?

Did they find the $5? I think it was a little extreme. Maybe the teachers were thinking that this would teach the kids not to steal in the future??

It is a shame to treat children as thieves. The teacher might have forgotten the money in the car or it fell on of her purse coming into the school. That why the children today feel they can’t trust anyone. At home the parents don’t trust them, at school the teachers don’t trust them and of course in the street the police don’t trust them. So when will the children get a break. And why keep the money in the view of the children. She wanted someone to take the money. Shame on the teacher!!!!

This never would have been allowed at the school I worked at! That school needs to have some policies in place and stand by them so this doesn’t happen again. That is ridiculous and especially over $5! I would be furious as a parent of a 3rd grader myself. I hope these children’s parents take a stand against this and prevent these teachers from doing something like that again!
