It's easy to make green cleaning products with ingredients you already have in the kitchen.

A Mom•Logic Mom got a notice from her child's school about the chemicals in many household cleaners, which are harmful to both people and the environment. Here are a few easy recipes to make safer cleaners that will leave your glass, bathroom and furniture spotless.

Glass Cleaner: Mix 1-2 cups of white vinegar and 1 quart of water in a spray bottle. No streaks!

Bathroom Cleaner: Sprinkle baking soda on the sink, bathtub or in the toilet. Use a wet rag to scrub the stains away. Do not use on surfaces that scratch easily.

Furniture Polish: Mix 1 ounce of lemon juice and 2 ounces of cooking oil (such as olive or corn) in a plastic bottle. Pour a small amount on furniture and polish with a soft cloth.

Right on! We all have to make an effort to save the world for all our children. Even better, a lot of these homemade cleaners are cheaper than the toxic stuff!

Yes that is all fine and dandy but, how do you dissinfect? I mean the toilet is full of germs how would you get rid of those germs?

I love these kind of alternatives! I cough & sneeze after using those toxic cleaners!

Don’t drink out of the toilet… besides most of those “germs” arent going to hurt you anyway

That’s great they’re teaching kids that in school! I use chemical-free cleaners in my home and gave away all of my toxic cleaners. Best thing I’ve ever done!!!

I also use, lemon and sugar for cleaning the bathtub and kitchen sink, the sugar is like a scrub, the lemon has acid in it to breakdown dirt and grime, and the lemon has the scent, that is pleasant! Plus on top of all that it is safe to use around kids and pets, toxic free!

HI. I’m a 10 year old girl who has asthma. I want to say that you should really use and make these products because asthma is not very fun and sometimes can prevent breathing. (Trust me I know) And I don’t think anyone wants that. I hate asthma. It messes me up in P.E and it’s hard to do and play all the sports and activities. Please make and use these products and have a happier, healthier life.
:) :( :)
