Honey, My Candidate is Better Than Yours!

Can spouses vote for different candidates and still achieve marital harmony?
Mom blogger RoleMommy's Mom•Logic: If you thought Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger were the only married couple in America who have opposing views on who's the best candidate for president, think again. This morning, Super Tuesday, my husband and I aren't arguing over whose turn it is to take out the garbage. We have bigger fish to fry. I’m digging in my heels and supporting Hillary Clinton, while he prepares to stand by his man, Republican front-runner John McCain.
How could two people, who are compatible in every way, veer off in a completely different direction when it comes to politics? It beats me, but as long as I’ve known him, my financially savvy spouse has always leaned toward the right, while me, a creative spirit with a bleeding heart, is as left as they come. And now, even our kids have taken sides—our daughter is rooting for Hillary, but my 5-year-old son's a Huckabee fan (because he likes the sound of his name).
While my husband and I may be pulling different levers on election day, it doesn’t mean we love each other any less. It’s just that when it comes to politics, sometimes you can agree to disagree. Do you agree?

I was actually going to post something about this today. My husband and I are the same way. He’s a died in the wool republican while I’m Democrat. People are always shocked when they find out and wonder who we can be married—happily no less—and disagree on politics.
We’ve been doing it for eight years with no end in sight.
