From political reporter, Mom Ronda Kaysen: Chelsea grew up when we weren't looking and now is fighting for her Mama.

Chelsea has recently taken on such a noticeable role in her mom's campaign that MSNBC correspondent David Shuster wondered if she was being "pimped out," a quip that evoked the mother's wrath from Hillary who declared, "I'm a mother first."
Chelsea's been working the phones with superdelegates scrambling for votes and even calling hosts from The View, hoping to garner their support. This week, she hit the college circuit praising her mom.
Chelsea's come a long way from the frizzy hair and braces days of the first Clinton presidential bid when she bore the brunt of Saturday Night Live jokes for her gawkiness. Now a 27-year-old, sleek-haired hedge fund consultant, Chelsea prefers to work behind the scenes, unlike Karenna Gore Schiff, who managed her dad's 2000 presidential bid and the Bush twins who famously spoke at the 2004 Republican National Convention.
Hillary's angry letter to NBC News president Steve Capus calling for Shuster's head makes it clear that the Clintons still see their daughter as off-limits. But the Clintons are walking an ambiguous line when it comes to Chelsea. As this email exchange between Shuster and Reines shows, Hillary might have to accept that if her daughter's playing the political game, she's also fair game.

Fair game or not — a woman can whip out her innner mamma bear for her children at anytime with my approval.
