Oprah: Couple Hits the Motherlode

Friday, February 22, 2008

Being the parents of twins is stressful enough, but what if you then popped out sextuplets?

Oprah sits down today with Jon and Kate Gosselin, who are the proud parents of eight energetic children. After Kate gave birth to twin girls back in 2000, the couple decided that they wanted one more. With the help of fertility drugs, they got more than they expected... many more.

I just cant understand why you had or wanted 6 more babies on one salery. To me its like you and your husband had your hands out for help. No one made you do this but your self and your husband. I am disabled and have to fight for medicaid and social security disability. And you just say oh wow 6 more to 2 we an get more hand outs. No one looks as good as your kids or your husband or you living on one income , not with 8 kids plus you both, so it has to be hand outs. Used to watch your show but Kate you never let your husband say much. Do you have the whip out so he is the docile male. SOrry but this is one person who will not watch you show. I wish i could have the nice vacations, the cars, the house, toys, even your hair is perfect. Have a great life.

Seems like parents who use fertility drugs (multiple births) get alot of free stuff: diapers, food, clothes, a brand new house and sometimes a TV show.

Unlike these other comments from people hating on you guys, I applaude you! I have tried getting pregnant for over 10 yrs now and still haven’t yet. I did adopt 3 children in the meantime though and love them dearly, but still want to experience giving birth to my own. And if I had to go through what you did to have my own and had 6 at one time, I’d not only do it in a heartbeat but sure would hope someone would help me with free diapers and such because it does cost a lot to raise children, no matter how many you have! 1 or 6, its a costly matter. Anyway, I do applaude you for having 8 children on your own. I have a neighbor that has 12 children of their own and they are the most loving and close family I know! So congrats to you both and good luck. You both seem to be great people. Tell all your kids Tiffany says hi :-)
