'The View' on Family Nudity

When should parents stop being naked in front of the kids?

videogonebutton.jpg
The View  got a bit au naturel this morning with a discussion about nudity in front of the kids. Of course, family rules vary on when privates should remain private. Some of us here have kids who NEVER see family members (this includes Daddy's "member") in the buff, while others have an open door policy. Based on Sherri's theatrical imitation of her husband's penis, one can only imagine what has gone on at her house.

It might be normal and natural to be in the nude (I should be an expert, since my Mom loved being naked) but I think there should be some sense of modesty around the house.

nothing wrong with going nude—but once kids can start talking, it’s time to put on your clothes.

I have to girls and find it hard at times to even take a shower without one of them bargin in on me. They are girls, so I’m not bothered by it. However, if I had a son; the door would be locked.

I have boys but they’re not even phased. I think it’s time to cover up when they start to notice things. At this point, they don’t react at all and I think it’s totally fine.

The women in my family are all comfortable being nude in front of one another..regardless of age. I believe it also has a lot to do with our european background & how we (women) were taught early on to love, respect & be comfortable in our skin. After the age of 4-5, the boys in my family are considered “too big” to see their mommies/sisters in the nude.

We are nudist family and we belive that being nude together and to beclose with nature isa wonderful thing. No cover ups at home all the time. Children should learn to be comfortable with their nude bodies and thatof their parents as well. After all we r all borned naked into this world
